LA28 Leases Space in Social District

Category Business News

In preparation for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the LA28 Organizing Committee has secured a significant office space in Downtown Los Angeles. They have leased 160,000 square feet across five floors in the USC Tower, located at 1150 South Olive Street. This move marks a substantial expansion from their previous 14,000-square-foot office in Westwood, accommodating the anticipated growth to a workforce of up to 4,000 employees.

The USC Tower, a 32-story building designed by William Pereira & Associates and completed in 1965, has a rich history. Originally known as the Occidental Life Building, it has undergone several name changes, including the Transamerica Building and the AT&T Center, before becoming the USC Tower in 2015 when the University of Southern California occupied a significant portion of the space. This lease not only provides the necessary infrastructure for LA28's expanding team but also contributes positively to the downtown Los Angeles commercial real estate market, which has been recovering from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
