With over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, I have had the pleasure of working with a variety of brands and independent hotels. Currently, I serve as the Complex Director of Sales and Marketing at the new Moxy + AC Hotel Downtown Los Angeles. This dual-hotel property boasts 727 guestrooms and an impressive array of 12 dining and entertainment options, including the vibrant Level 8, a collection of restaurants, bars, and lounges. My journey brought me to Los Angeles from New York City, where I managed a portfolio of Moxy Hotels, following my son to this dynamic city.

Los Angeles has many diverse neighborhoods, and you’ve chosen to invest here. Why The Social District?

Our owner, Lightstone Group, chose the Social District in DTLA because of its unique blend of connectivity, vibrancy, and transformation. The area is at the heart of Los Angeles' revitalization, with major landmarks like the Crypto.com Arena, the Los Angeles Convention Center, L.A LIVE and the GRAMMY Museum all within close reach. Over the past decade, the district has evolved into a thriving hub for dining, nightlife, and culture, making it the perfect location for a Moxy and AC Hotel. Beyond its key attractions, what truly drew us in was its vibrant sense of community - where locals and visitors come together for games, concerts, and conventions. With ongoing revitalization and a surge in new residential developments, the Social District is an exciting destination for both business and leisure travelers. By investing here, we’re not just placing our property near high-profile attractions—we’re contributing to the district’s ongoing growth as a cultural and social anchor, creating a space where people can work, stay, and play in the heart of LA.

When you’re not working, what do you love to do in The Social District?

Our hotels are a fantastic adult playground, offering a variety of restaurants, bars, and entertainment options. Opening the hotels and traveling to promote DTLA and our properties takes up much of my time. Exploring more is on my bucket list for 2025! I love going to Mastro’s incognito after a late night of work! My favorite lunch spot is Pine and Crane.

Looking ahead, what is your vision for the future of The Social District in the next 5-10 years? What are your hopes and aspirations for the community?

Looking ahead, with the potential expansion of the convention center, growing interest in the completion of the Oceanwide Plaza project, and major events like FIFA 2026 and the 2028 L.A. Olympics, we anticipate a significant influx of visitors to the Social District over the next 5-10 years, resulting in increased attention and recognition for the area. This will transform the area into a more dynamic, interconnected part of the city, where residents, businesses, and travelers engage seamlessly, contributing to its flourishing identity. We envision the Social District to continue growing as a hub where culture and community converge—an inclusive space where people gather not only for leisure but to participate in the cultural and creative movements shaping the area. For us, the Social District is more than just a destination; it's a place of ongoing cultural dialogue. We're excited to be part of this growth, ensuring Moxy and AC Hotel DTLA remains a welcoming space where both locals and visitors feel inspired to connect, socialize, and experience the district's evolving energy. We're excited about what the next decade holds, both for the Social District and for the broader fabric of Downtown Los Angeles.

How are you a part of shaping the future of The Social District?

Like all of the businesses in our neighborhood, we are integral in shaping the future of the Social District. We are constantly evolving and adapting to the environment that the district needs us to be, whether it’s creating activations that to entice locals to come downtown, from cultural events to working alongside L.A. Live or the convention center for their events. In addition to attending a variety of trade shows and collaborating with LA tourism to learn more about how we can positively impact the economy in the Social District. We are always on the pulse of what’s happening in the community to better enrich the district.

The Social District hosts a lot of events, from awards shows to sporting events to concerts. What’s an event you’d want front row seats to attend and where in The Social District would you go before or after the big event?

Lakers game! Absolutely, I would enjoy both pre-game and post-game activities at our fantastic venues at our hotels.
