Spotlight Series: Jim Madsen

As the Senior Vice President of Operations at LA LIVE Properties LLC. I am responsible for leading the Tenant Operations, Engineering, Security, and Parking departments. I joined AEG in 2007 and during my 17 years at LA LIVE I have led the transition from construction to daily operations. Prior to joining the AEG team, I held various operational leadership positions at Universal Studios Hollywood and City Walk.

When you’re not working, what do you love to do in The Social District?

I enjoy the farmers market and the new restaurants.

Looking ahead, what is your vision for the future of The Social District in the next 5-10 years? What are your hopes and aspirations for the community?

It is my hope that the district continues to grow, adding new fun and exciting shops and restaurants to the area and it and remains a safe and secure environment for our residences and guests.

How are you a part of shaping the future of The Social District?

I bring the experience of being in the hospitality and entertainment business for over 40 years to the board of the Social District and by sharing ideas and best practices we can grow both the District and the LA LIVE campus.

The Social District hosts a lot of events, from awards shows to sporting events to concerts. What’s an event you’d want front row seats to attend and where in The Social District would you go before or after the big event?

As a lifelong Los Angeles Kings fan, I would want to attend a game 7 Stanley Cup final hockey game and watch my favorite team lift the cup for the third time after the win. Then it would be a celebratory drink at one of our local restaurants.
