Sgt. Splendor is a groove-driven rock band led by Kate Vargas and Eric McFadden, blending the communal elasticity of Sly and the Family Stone, the raw emotional force of PJ Harvey, and the swagger of The Rolling Stones into a sound that’s bold, exploratory, and grounded in serious musicianship. Known for high-connection live shows, the band has appeared at festivals including BottleRock, MEMPHO, High Sierra, and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, and shared stages with artists such as Samantha Fish, Fantastic Negrito, and Joan Baez.
